Another year over! Who can believe it!

2017 has been so much fun! All sorts of crazy stuff has happened...

  • I traveller to eight countries

  • I've made some amazing friends

  • I graduated from my undergraduate degree

  • I started my masters (eek)

And importantly ..

  • I joined bookstagram

  • I read who knows how many books

(And we won't talk about how many chocolate bars or bottles of wine I got through!)

I thought I'd just take some time to look back on the past year - on the books I read and the start of my journey on bookstagram!

Over the past six month's I have documented my reads, and my bookish travels - I have been to libraries in Dublin and Riga, stopped book markets in Madrid and wound away the hours on a rain and plane lost in thought.

I have read some great books - from the adventures of Violet and Boy in Helena Duggan’s A Place Called Perfect, to the dark drugged up world of James Frey’s life, from Swedish games of life and murder in Ass Advic’s The Dying Game to the gates of Atlantis in David Gibbons books ... This has been a year of exploration in both the real world and in the world of story!

I haven't been the greatest at following book challenges and working through my tbr list - there are just too many book distractions!

But this year I plan to right all this! Are there any book challenges your looking forward to?

So for the next year I plan to stick to my monthly book piles, and work my way through my unread mountain of books! (And as well as being excited to finally getting around to read them I think my bank balance will probably rejoice at the idea of reading the books I already have not buying more and more books!)

Ignore the mess and everything around the bookshelf but this is my shelves of unread books!

Luckily I'm stocked up on some chocolate for when I get started on these books!

I've picked out five books for my January to read pile.

  1. Hitman Anders and the Meaning of it all by Jonas Johansson

  2. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

  3. How to stop Brexit by Nick Clegg

  4. The Impossible State: North Korea Past and Future by Victor Cha

  5. The Explorer by Katherine Russell

  6. The Power by Naomi Alderman

What will you be reading this month?

So sending all my book love for 2018 and here's to more books, more bookstagram posts and more book blogging!
